Danh Vō is a Vietnamese-born Danish artist. He consistently uses his own life as material, as an example, Vō married and divorced several people in rapid succession in order to add their surnames to his own in a commentary on the practice of changing and rearranging immigrants’ names on arrival in their new home countries. He titled the work “VO Rosasco Rasmussen” (2002-) after two of his spouses. Vo’s “We The People” (2011) is a long-term project to reconstruct the Statue of Liberty on a 1:1 scale.

Vō studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Denmark and the Städelschule, Frankfurt. He participated in the Venice Biennale (2013) and has exhibited his work in the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2013); the Art Institute of Chicago (2012); the Kunsthaus Bregenz, Austria (2012); the National Gallery of Denmark (2010); Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland (2009) and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2008). He was the winner of the Hugo Boss Prize (2012).
