Tauba Auerbach works across a variety of media to make artworks that range from photography and painting, to musical performance and book publishing. She received a BA in Visual Arts from Stanford University in 2003 and was a recipient of the SECA Art Award from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 2008 as well as a Smithsonian Institution fellowship in 2011. Her work was included in the 2010 Whitney Biennial and she has had solo exhibitions at Paula Cooper Gallery, New York, NY (2012); Malmö Konsthall, Sweden (2012); Bergen Kunsthall, Bergen, Norway (2011); Deitch Projects, New York, NY (2009); and Jack Hanley Gallery,San Francisco, CA (2008) among many others. She has also participated in group shows at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2012); the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2012); the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (2010); and the New Museum, New York, NY (2010).
